Meet the Team: Written By a Panel of Experts

Little Explorers is written and supported by key figures in the community, including Sheikh Sajid Ahmed Umar, Dr Bilal Philips and Sheikh Navaid Aziz. Our other panel members are all well versed in teaching and writing for children.

You can be rest assured that the information your child learns is relevant to what they learn at school and will help consolidate their learning so that they retain and remember this information longer.

Traditional ways to teach children are not necessarily the best ways to teach a child. By making each and every issue highly engaging and interactive and by including fun games and quizzes, learning become a pleasure and never a chore.

Sheikh Navaid Aziz

Shaikh Navaid is from Canada but travels all around the world from city to city and town to town teaching people all about Islam in different ways. Shaikh Navaid is known amongst his students and friends to have a lovable smile and is very caring and makes everyone feel very special and now Mashallah he is our teacher too! When Shaikh Navaid is giving a lecture his famous words, which he says a lot of are: “So I’m going to tell you a joke!” as well as many famous quotes, ayahs from the Quran and Hadith he shares with all his readers and listeners.

Sheikh Sajid Umar

Sheikh Sajid was born in Leicester here in the UK but lives in Riyadh Saudi Arabia where he lives with his wife and little boy Abdullah. Shaikh Sajid travels around the world teaching people all about Islam and has a wonderful smile. Whilst on his travels Shaikh Sajid loves to visits schools and nurseries and play with children. He also loves sports like golf swimming, football and has a brown belt in Karate. Shaikh Sajid is also the 'Director of Islamic Development' for Mercy Mission World as well as a tutor with AlKauthar.

Sheikh Alaa Elsayed

Shaikh Alaa was born in Cairo, Egypt but lives in Canada with his wife and mashallah 3 children. Shaikh Alaa travels all around the world delivering Al-Kauthar courses and teaching people Islam in different countries. He also takes part in many community projects and also comes on many TV shows Mashallah. Sheikh Alaa is tutor with AlKauthar and is also the Director of Public Relations for Mercy Mission world.

Sheikh Bilal Philips

Shaikh Bilal was born in Jamaica, but grew up in Canada as a Christian. It was not until 1972 that Shaikh Bilal accepted Islam. Shaikh Bilal now lives in Doha Qatar with his family where he heads many educational activities as well as giving Jumuah khutbahs in English at the English masjids. Shaikh Bilal has travelled all over the world teaching and helping people learn more about Islam. Dr Bilal Philips has written many books on islam and also is the founder of a great online university.
